System Interoperability and Scalability

Collaboration

COBRA is designed to support day to day activities, special event monitoring, security operations and anything from a small to large emergencies. COBRA achieves this broad range by providing a distributed collaboration environment including activity logs, chat rooms, interactive maps, and multiple other tools and resources that can be shared by users at the local, state and federal level.

Effectively Scale Up

EOC staff can effectively scale up to manage a large incident resulting in multiple injuries through the preposition of resources, plans, staging areas, and other information in COBRA, providing decision makers with rapid and easy to understand information to make the right decision at the right time.

Powered by Microsoft Azure

COBRA software is built using the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and inherits the sophisticated disaster and recovery controls provided by the platform, with full backup redundancy, burstable bandwidth, and load balancing capabilities.  Using Azure and depending on customer requirements, we can stand up environments that span multiple geographic zones, which provides fault tolerance in cases of geo-specific outages.

Automatic Notifications

Any system failure or unexpected application outage will trigger automatic notification of the COBRA technical team who will immediately begin working with AWS to diagnose the disruption and deal with the triggering events.

Dynamis will ensure COBRA servers are not taken down for maintenance or any other planned activity without prior agreement and scheduling with clients.

More Details

AWS servers allow full scalability with little to no server degradation. The COBRA platform, when hosted on AWS servers, maintains burstable bandwidth during emergencies to maintain acceptable system response. AWS servers offer load balancing and burstable bandwidth capacity automatically while experiencing peak activity or when set performances are exceeded. This ensures there is no slowdowns or gaps in functionality. The standard COBRA server is configured for 200 users accessing the site at once during peak activity.

AWS servers allow full scalability, such as the addition of nodes, increasing resources to servers increasing ram and storage capabilities and auto scaling.

COBRA Is User Friendly

Dynamis employs Microsoft’s “Useful, Usable, Desirable, Predicable” (UUDP)’s approach to User Interface (UI) design. Further, our approach has always been to incorporate feedback from our customers to continually enhance usability and attractiveness of the display.

UUDP ensures that
  • The software solves a problem for the user in a helpful way
  • The user can understand how the software works
  • It looks good and is something the user  would want to use
  • The software behaves in a way the user expects

More Details

We gather COBRA use stories from our clients via our customer success managers, to ensure the software has become part of the daily routine and is solving problems that existed prior to implementation. We gauge the users understanding of how the software works and of all the capabilities it can provide.

We know that our clients have difficult jobs, and the software should simplify, not complicate, their mission. Daily calls between our client success managers and our developers ensure that they are aware of any user interface suggestions that our customers present.

Legacy Systems

COBRA connects with many legacy systems including:

  • WebEOC
  • Previstar
  • xChange Core
